Have You Got What It Takes To Be A Restaurant Owner Operator?

mcdonalds-logo

It started with a vision – to start a chain of fast food restaurants all over the United States, and Ray Kroc the founder of McDonald’s, saw this vision come true with McDonald’s charming its fans all over the world with its highly celebrated food: World Famous Fries, Big Mac, Quarter Pounder, Chicken McNuggets and Egg McMuffin to name a few.

Established in 1955, McDonald’s is now the leading global foodservice retailer with more than 32,000 restaurants serving more than 60 million people in 117 countries each day. More than 75% of McDonald’s restaurants worldwide are owned and operated by independent businessmen and businesswomen.

McDonald’s first made its way to our shores in December 1980 when McDonald’s Corporation, USA gave Golden Arches Restaurants Sdn Bhd the license to operate McDonald’s restaurants in Malaysia. The first restaurant was opened at Jalan Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur on 29 April 1982. Since then, McDonald’s Malaysia has established 196 restaurants located nationwide and is currently expanding at about 15 – 20 restaurants annually, serving 10 million customers in a month.

McDonald

Doing Its Part For Malaysia
For more than two decades, McDonald’s has been providing jobs and opportunities to the Malaysian workforce. Its success relies heavily on the strengths of its employees, franchisees and suppliers. Today, McDonald’s directly employs more than 8,000 Malaysians all over the country and invests over RM2 million in training them. Indirectly, with RM231 million worth of food purchases annually from more than 50 local suppliers, and the close relationship that it has with its 10 franchisees, McDonald’s has provided countless others and their families a chance for a better life.

Franchising Opportunities
McDonald’s Malaysia is currently expanding at an annual rate of approximately 15 – 20 restaurants. With strong business and marketing plans, McDonald’s expects a positive growth trend to continue in years to come. McDonald’s wants to extend this opportunity to any individual Malaysian interested in becoming a franchisee, running a quick service restaurant with the most recognised brand in the world, and to be a part of a proven success story.

To all of you asking for advice to start a franchise of McDonald’s in Singapore, McDonald’s is 100% company owned in Singapore and therefore it is not available for franchise. Subway and 7-eleven are popular options in Singapore.
